Attorney Philip L. Judy
A personal injury attorney serving Columbus and central Ohio for over 20 years
Born in Columbus, Ohio, Phil Judy has been practicing law as a litigator in and around central Ohio for over twenty years. He attended The Ohio State University for his undergraduate education and obtained his law degree from Capital University, graduating magna cum laude in 1997. During law school Phil earned several honors and awards and was a member of law review and Capital’s National Moot Court team, a wrote the second-place brief in the National Moot Court Competition in New Orleans in 1997.
After graduation, Phil practiced primarily personal injury and medical malpractice at the well-regarding plaintiffs’ firm, Colley, Shroyer and Abraham Co., LPA. Since then, he has broadened his practice to include commercial and business litigation, labor and employment, administrative matters, insurance litigation, and a variety of general practice matters. After several years in both private practice and working for the Ohio Attorney General, trying over 100 cases, Phil has returned to exclusively plaintiffs’ personal injury, joining the Smith Law Office in 2019.
Phil is licensed to practice law in Ohio (1997) and also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio (1998 and 2011). He is a member of both the Ohio State Bar Association and Columbus Bar Association.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio and is married, with two children. When he is not zealously advocating for the rights of his clients, Phil is actively involved in his community and his church.
He has served on numerous executive boards, particularly in the Worthington School District, including Past President of the Worthington PTA Council. He has served as a youth athletic coach for over 15 years, particularly in travel baseball and softball programs. He also sings on the worship team and directs the youth choirs in his church. With whatever time he has left, he enjoys squeezing in a round of golf.
